About Fast in the Past

Is located just north of Houston, Texas, in the small town of Splendora, Texas. Operating out of the workshop of Jeff and Brenda Roeder.

Purpose of the Fast in the Past

After retiring, I decided that I would like to stay busy, but at something that I enjoy doing, and as the saying goes, "If you do something you enjoy, you will never work a day in your life". I have enjoyed the hot rod world since as far back as I can remember. The logical choice would be to work and have fun in the hot rod industry. I find that the most satisfying purpose of the company is the recovery and placing of long-lost or forgotten items of the hot rod world back into circulation for the enjoyment of the next generation.

The Issue

One of the issues that I noticed in the early aspects of my collecting of hot rod stuff was that the old magazines of the industry, like Hot Rod, Popular Hot Rodding, etc., cost way too much in my opinion. I can only guess that folks have a belief that since the magazine was 50 years old, it should be worth so much more than I think it should. Yes, there are some magazines that have an increased value due to high desirability and low production, but I have found that is not the case in most instances. My goal is to bring the availability of this type of magazine to you at what I feel is a more reasonable cost.
